Mark Jager is an Assistant Professor (Teaching) and Program Director for Welding and Metallurgical Engineering Technology at Wayne State University’s Department of Engineering Technology. With over 40 years of experience in the automotive and defense industries, his expertise spans welding, metallurgical engineering, and failure analysis. He previously taught at Monroe County Community College and worked at General Dynamics, Tenneco, Chrysler Detroit Tank Plant, and General Motors.

His teaching interests focus on materials science, engineering alloys, mechanical metallurgy, and failure analysis. He is affiliated with the American Welding Society and ASM International.
