Mark David Hall is a Professor at the Robertson School of Government at Regent University (since 2023). He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Wheaton College and a Ph.D. in Government from the University of Virginia. His research focuses on American political theory, religion's role in politics, and religious liberty/church-state relations. He has served as an expert witness for the U.S. Department of Justice, State of Arkansas, and legal advocacy groups like Alliance Defending Freedom. Previously, he held the Herbert Hoover Distinguished Professorship at George Fox University.
Dr. Hall is renowned for challenging secular narratives of American history, emphasizing Christianity's foundational influence on liberty and equality. His work includes over a dozen books and 150+ scholarly contributions, blending historical analysis with contemporary relevance. Notable publications include *Did America Have a Christian Founding?* (2019) and *Faith and the Founders* (2014).
His articles and books consistently engage themes of constitutional interpretation, religious pluralism, and the interplay between faith and governance. He actively participates in legal debates on religious freedom, leveraging historical scholarship to inform modern policy discussions.
