Francis Beckwith is Professor of Philosophy and Church-State Studies at Baylor University, where he also serves as Associate Director of Graduate Studies. A prominent philosopher specializing in religion, jurisprudence, and ethics, he has published extensively on topics including natural law, religious liberty, bioethics, and political philosophy. Dr. Beckwith holds advisory roles including membership on the U.S. Religious Liberty Commission's Advisory Board of Legal Experts.
His influential works include the AAR Book Award-winning Taking Rites Seriously (Cambridge University Press), Never Doubt Thomas (Baylor University Press), and the forthcoming Defending Life, 2nd Edition (Cambridge). His research examines the intersection of faith, reason, and law in contemporary society, with recent projects addressing abortion jurisprudence, religious freedom challenges, and Catholic-Mormon dialogue.
