Dwight Allman is Associate Professor of Political Science at Baylor University's College of Arts & Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Chicago and B.A. from Brigham Young University.
His research focuses on Ancient-Medieval Political Thought, Modern Political Philosophy (especially Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche), and Contemporary Political Theory. Current work examines Plato's portrayal of Socrates and David Hume's influence on James Madison.

He teaches courses in American Political Thought, Classical/Medieval Political Philosophy, Modern Political Thought, and Contemporary Democratic Theory. He co-founded the Lone Star Chapter of the Conference for the Study of Political Theory.
