Ann Ward is a Professor of Political Science at Baylor University. She holds a Ph.D. from Fordham University, an M.A. from Brock University, and a B.A. from the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on ancient political philosophy (Herodotus, Plato, Aristotle), existentialist thought (Kierkegaard, Heidegger), politics and literature, and feminist theory. She has authored multiple books and contributed to peer-reviewed journals like History of Political Thought and European Journal of Political Theory.
Teaching includes advanced seminars on classical and medieval political thought, modern political philosophy, and feminist theory. Her work bridges ancient and modern political thought, emphasizing interdisciplinary connections between philosophy, literature, and gender studies.
Publications include The Socratic Individual: Philosophy, Faith and Freedom in a Democratic Age (2020) and Contemplating Friendship in Aristotle’s Ethics (2016). She has edited volumes on citizenship, federalism, and classical rationalism.
