Lorraine Pangle is a Professor of Government and Co-Director of the Thomas Jefferson Center for the Study of Core Texts and Ideas at the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a PhD in Social Thought from the University of Chicago, a B.A. in history from Yale University, and a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto.
- Specializes in history of political and moral philosophy
- Focuses on classical thinkers: Plato, Aristotle, Xenophon, Machiavelli, Rousseau
- Current research spans Platonic epistemology, Nietzschean contemplation, and evolutionary psychology's relation to ancient human nature claims
