Michael Moreland serves as University Professor of Law and Religion at Villanova University and directs the Eleanor H. McCullen Center for Law, Religion and Public Policy, an interdisciplinary research hub examining intersections of legal frameworks, religious freedom, and governance.
His scholarly focus centers on constitutional protections for religious expression, church-state relations, and policy implications for religious minorities. Research explores how legal systems accommodate religious practice while maintaining secular governance, with emphasis on First Amendment jurisprudence and comparative religious liberty frameworks across democratic societies.
As director of the McCullen Center, he oversees initiatives fostering dialogue between legal scholars, faith communities, and policymakers through conferences, publications, and collaborative research projects addressing contemporary challenges in religious freedom and public life.
