Mark Cooper is a Professor of the Practice in Studio Art at Boston College, affiliated with the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a B.S. from Indiana University and an M.F.A. from Tufts University/School of the Museum of Fine Arts. His work focuses on ceramics, public art, and collaborative installations, often addressing social issues like violence prevention through community projects. Notable projects include the 1994 Capitol Children’s Museum initiative involving 1,110 public artworks and exhibitions at institutions like the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the DaNang Museum of Fine Art in Vietnam.
