Mark Bevensee

Mark Bevensee is Professor and Assistant Dean at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), holding primary appointment in Cell, Developmental and Integrative Biology with secondary appointments in Neurobiology and Medical Education. He serves as Senior Scientist across multiple UAB research centers including the Comprehensive Neuroscience Center, Nephrology Research & Training Center, and Center for Clinical and Translational Science.

His research spans multiple domains:

• Physiological mechanisms in cellular systems
• Neural and glial biology in health and disease
• Biochemical pathways in cellular development
• Translational medical research

As Assistant Dean, he contributes to academic leadership and administration across health professions programs. He maintains active collaborations through UAB's interdisciplinary research centers.
