Russell Griffin

Russell Griffin is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), with secondary appointments in the School of Medicine's Infectious Diseases and the Integrative Center for Aging Research. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Health (Epidemiology) from UAB (2011), an MPH from UAB (2006), and a BS in Biology from UAB (2004).

• Research Focus: Acute kidney injury in neonates, trauma-related hemorrhage management, meningioma risk factors, public health disparities, and nephrotoxic medication effects.
• Teaching: Courses in infection prevention, data analysis, and directed research at UAB, with leadership roles in graduate committees.

Publication Trends: Recent work examines dMPA-meningioma associations, fluid-corrected AKI diagnostics, and trauma patient outcomes. His research spans public health, neonatal nephrology, and emergency medicine epidemiology.
