Dr. Michael Mugavero is a Professor in the School of Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), specializing in Medicine - Infectious Diseases. He holds multiple academic roles, including Director of the Center for Outcomes Effectiveness Research and Education (COERE), Co-Director of the Center for AIDS Research (CFAR), and Principal Investigator of an AHRQ T32 training grant. His research focuses on HIV care continuum, implementation science, health services research, and learning health systems.
Dr. Mugavero’s academic appointments span across UAB’s School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Public Health, and interdisciplinary centers such as the Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) and the Nephrology Research & Training Center.
