Marjo-Riitta Ruuska is a University Lecturer in Church History at the Faculty of Theology, University of Helsinki. She holds the title of Docent and has been actively contributing to the fields of Church History, Women's History, and Religious Studies with a particular focus on Finnish religious contexts.
Her research interests span multiple areas including:
- Church History, with special emphasis on Finnish religious institutions
- Women's History within religious contexts
- Gender studies in religious organizations
- History of religious women's movements in Finland

Ruuska's scholarly work demonstrates a strong focus on the intersection of gender, religion, and Finnish national identity.
