Anne Kouvonen is a Professor of Social Policy at the University of Helsinki (since 2018) and Honorary Professor in Social Epidemiology at Queen’s University Belfast. She leads the Helsinki Inequality Initiative (INEQ) and is a Senior Researcher at the Academy of Finland-funded Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care (MICA). Her work focuses on social determinants of health, employee mental health, and migrant health. She has held roles such as Visiting Professor at SWPS University (2014–2020) and Honorary Lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast (2014–2021).

Research Interests: Her research combines social epidemiology, administrative data linkage, and qualitative methods to study health inequalities, ageing, and migrant health. Current priorities include digital inclusion of migrants and social policies addressing care needs of ageing populations.
