Tom Jilbert is Professor in the Department of Geosciences and Geography at the University of Helsinki, leading research in aquatic biogeochemistry and marine environmental change.
Research Focus
His work examines hypoxia, trace metal cycling, and anthropogenic impacts in Baltic Sea ecosystems using sedimentary records. Current projects include digitizing carbon sink potential in boreal lakes and analyzing coastal environmental resilience.
