Marjan Khajehei is an Honorary Associate Professor at the Sydney Nursing School, part of the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. She holds adjunct roles at Western Sydney University, UNSW Sydney, and the University of New South Wales. With a background in Midwifery (BSc, MSc) and a PhD in Public Health, her research focuses on maternal and women’s health, including perinatal mental health, sexual health, and public health interventions in low-resource settings. She has secured over 1000 citations and an h-index of 18, reflecting her impactful contributions to healthcare research.
Her research interests include midwifery, women’s health, public health, and mental health. Current projects explore perinatal educational needs of fathers and resilience programs for nursing students. Awards include the Research Engagement Award (2024), multiple Recognised Reviewer Awards, and the John J. Sciarra IJGO Prize Paper Award (2009).
Dr. Khajehei’s work emphasizes evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary collaboration. She leads projects such as optimizing perineal trauma recovery and assessing antenatal care quality in Ethiopia. Her articles highlight global health disparities and maternal health outcomes in low-income countries.
