Marisara Dieppa

Dr. Marisara Dieppa is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she has been affiliated since 2014. Her clinical practice focuses on epilepsy evaluation, particularly refractory cases requiring neurosurgical intervention, and she co-leads the Multidisciplinary Concussion Clinic. She holds board certifications in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Epilepsy from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Dieppa earned her MD from Ponce School of Medicine (Puerto Rico) with High Honors and Alpha Omega Alpha distinction. She completed neurology residency at UT Southwestern, earning the Stephen Damm Award for compassionate care, followed by fellowships in Clinical Neurophysiology and Sports Neurology. Her research spans traumatic brain injury (TBI) neurorehabilitation, epilepsy management, and vaccine-related neurological side effects.

Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary care, with notable contributions to understanding TBI's impact on dementia onset and epilepsy/PNES psychiatric comorbidities. Recent studies explore exercise interventions for TBI patients and stereoelectroencephalography for seizure localization. Dr. Dieppa actively mentors medical students in neurology career pathways and participates in clinical trials for novel therapeutic approaches.
