Mario Herrero is a Professor in the Department of Global Development at Cornell University and holds positions as a Cornell Atkinson Scholar and Nancy and Peter Meinig Family Investigator in the Life Sciences. He leads the Food Systems & Global Change initiative and has been a key figure in global efforts to enhance food system sustainability. His research focuses on climate mitigation, livestock systems, and sustainable diets, with significant contributions to the EAT-Lancet Commission and IPCC reports.
