Dr. Marina Fortuna is an Assistant Professor of Public International Law at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Law. She specializes in the practices of international courts and quasi-judicial bodies, focusing on customary international law (CIL) interpretation, treaty interpretation methods, and the intersection of psychology/ethics with international law. Her research explores judicial impartiality, human rights mechanisms, and international criminal law. Fortuna holds a PhD from the TRICI-Law project, analyzing CIL interpretation by international courts. She teaches courses on international law at both LLB and LLM levels, including public international law and dispute settlement. She actively participates in moot court competitions as a judge and mentor. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through human rights advocacy and legal scholarship.
