Marina Barnett is an Associate Professor and Assistant Provost for Civic Engagement at Widener University. She holds a DSW in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania (1995). Her roles include teaching policy and community organization across BSW, MSW, and PhD programs, while leading civic engagement initiatives. Her research focuses on advocacy, social justice, technology integration in education, and community development. Barnett has received notable awards including the 2024 NPSS Program Leadership Award and 2023 Legion of Honor Award for her pandemic-era community work.
