Marilyn Nonken

Marilyn Nonken is a Professor of Music and Music Education and Chair of the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions at New York University's Steinhardt School. A renowned Steinway Artist, she is celebrated for her interpretations of contemporary and spectral music, with performances at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and IRCAM. Her research bridges musicology and performance practice, focusing on 20th-century composers like Messiaen and spectralists, resulting in influential publications such as The Spectral Piano and Identity and Diversity in New Music.
