Jeremy Samolesky is Professor and the Ike and Rhonda Scott Endowed Professor of Piano at the School of Music, College of Liberal Arts, Auburn University. A Steinway Artist, he is an internationally active performer, recording artist, and educator with a distinguished career spanning multiple continents.
His educational background includes a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) from the Eastman School of Music, a Master of Music (MM) from the University of Washington, and a Bachelor of Music (BM) from the University of Manitoba. He also earned the Performer’s Certificate from Eastman, a rare distinction.
Dr. Samolesky’s research and professional focus lies in piano performance, particularly in solo and chamber music repertoire ranging from Romantic masters like Chopin to 20th- and 21st-century composers such as Prokofiev and Marjan Mozetich. He is dedicated to new music, frequently collaborating with living composers and premiering works by Daniel Dorff, David Maslanka, David Plylar, and Carl Vollrath. His performances have been broadcast on NPR, CBC, and various public radio stations, including a featured recital on Performance Today from the Kennedy Center.
His recent recordings reflect a deep engagement with both canonical and contemporary works. Trends in his discography show a commitment to complete cycles (e.g., Max Reger’s clarinet works, Mozetich’s piano music) and interpretive contrasts between composers of different eras. His albums have received critical acclaim and international recognition.
