Dr. Marie Wisner serves as the Associate Dean for Learning, Calling, and Career at Montreat College since 2017, leading the Thrive Center to support students' academic success and purpose discernment. She previously held leadership roles at Bethel University for 25 years, including Dean of Students and interim Vice President for Student Life.
- Education: B.A. and M.A. in English Literature/Writing and Counseling Psychology from Bethel College; Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Azusa Pacific University.
Her research focuses on organizational leadership, positive psychology, and student leadership development, informed by her career in student wellbeing and career counseling. She has taught courses in leadership, psychology, and first-year student experiences.
Marie is active in the Association for Christians in Student Development, currently serving as Executive Director. She emphasizes Montreat College's motto, Esse Quam Videri, promoting authentic Christian faith in student growth.
