Dr. Ronald Welch is a Professor of Counseling at Colorado Christian University, where he rejoined the faculty in October 2024. He is affiliated with the College of Adult and Graduate Studies and the School of Counseling. Previously, he served at CCU from 2003 to 2008 as Assistant/Associate Professor and Chair of the Psychology Department, and later held leadership roles at Denver Seminary, including Associate Dean and Co-Chair of the Counseling Division.
Dr. Welch earned his Psy.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Central Michigan University and a B.A. in Psychology and Speech Communication from the University of Denver. He has been a licensed psychologist in Colorado since 2003 and has over 25 years of experience in clinical psychology and counselor education.
His research and professional focus centers on marital and family therapy, particularly power and control dynamics in relationships, men's psychological issues, and the integration of Christian faith with clinical practice. He emphasizes authenticity, vulnerability, and high academic rigor in teaching, blending Biblical principles with evidence-based counseling techniques.
His published works include two major books that explore marital success and control in relationships. These reflect a broader research trajectory in couples counseling, therapeutic ethics, and faith-integrated models of psychological healing.

Dr. Welch has maintained an active private practice, Transformational Marriage, PLLC, since 2011, serving the local community in clinical psychology.
