Dr. Marie Kerin is a Senior Lecturer in Law and Director of Education at Kent Law School, University of Kent. She holds a PhD in Law from the same institution, an MA in Reasoning from its Centre for Reasoning, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE).

Her research focuses on legal theory, epistemology, legal reasoning, and legal ethics, with a PhD exploring judicial dissent in UK Supreme Court decisions. She also investigates academic skills development and its impact on student success, driven by her prior widening participation work.
As Director of Education, she oversees teaching quality and student support strategies. She teaches modules like 'Introduction to the English Legal System' and 'Legal Ethics', and convenes postgraduate Legal Professional Practice courses. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and affiliated with the University’s Centre for Reasoning.
