Marie-Gabrielle Rotie is a Senior Lecturer in Theatre and Performance at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her interdisciplinary practice explores embodied knowledge through Butoh dance, costume-led performance, and site-specific interventions. Research interests focus on human-animal-nature transformations, feminist theory, Gothic spirituality, and mythological archetypes.
She received First Prize at Certamen Encuentros (2012) for performance work. Current projects examine ritual possession and landscape archaeology through lens-based media. Professional collaborations include choreography for Robert Eggers' films Nosferatu (2024) and The Northman (2022).
