Marie-Andrée Pelletier is a Professor in the Department of Education at TÉLUQ University, where she has been since 2019, and concurrently serves as an Associate Professor at Laval University since 2025. Her academic work centers on preschool education with specialized focus on socio-emotional development and educator well-being.
Her educational qualifications include:
- Doctorate in Education from the University of Quebec in Rimouski (collaboration with UQAM)
- Master's degree in Education from the University of Quebec in Rimouski
- Bachelor's degree in Preschool and Primary Education from the University of Quebec in Rimouski
Professor Pelletier's research examines socio-emotional skill development among school staff to enhance well-being for both educators and young children, with particular emphasis on emotional support practices in kindergarten classrooms (ages 4-5). Her work investigates psychological training frameworks for future teachers, highlighting the critical role of emotional dimensions in teacher preparation and professional practice. This research bridges theoretical pedagogy with practical classroom applications in early childhood education.
Her research program is funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec-Société et culture (FRQSC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). She maintains active research affiliations as a regular researcher at the Interuniversity Research Center on Teaching Training and the Teaching Profession (CRIFPE) and as a member of the Educational Success and Inclusive Pedagogy (RÉPI) research team. Drawing from 15 years of direct classroom experience as a preschool and primary education teacher, plus 10 years as a trainer and lecturer in teacher preparation programs, she integrates frontline educational insights into her academic scholarship.
Her institutional affiliations include CRIFPE and the RÉPI research team, where she contributes to collaborative studies on inclusive pedagogy and educational success strategies.
