Éric Bédard is a prominent Quebec historian and professor affiliated with TÉLUQ (now part of UQÀM) and the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). He holds a PhD in History from McGill University (2005) and has held academic positions since 2003, including roles at the Université du Québec à Rimouski and TÉLUQ's Humanities department. His research focuses on Quebec's political history, social movements, and contemporary identity formation. Notable works include Chronicle of an Apprehended Insurrection (1998) analyzing the October Crisis's impact on universities, and Les Réformistes (2009), which earned him the Prix Clio-Québec and Assembly President's Award. Bédard is also engaged in public intellectual work through media contributions and academic leadership roles.
