Maribeth S. Metzler is a Professor of Communication and Internship Director at the University of Cincinnati. She holds a PhD in Communication and Rhetoric from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1996), an MEn in Environmental Science/Public Information from Miami University (1988), and an AB in Literature (summa cum laude) from Miami University (1983). Prior to her current role, she taught at Rutgers, SUNY Oswego, and Miami University.

Her research focuses on environmental and risk communication, organizational communication ethics, and the societal impacts of organizations. She has published in journals like American Behavioral Scientist and contributed to the Handbook of Public Relations. Her co-edited book on communication in the U.S. nuclear weapons production complex highlights her interdisciplinary work with colleagues Steve Depoe, Brian Taylor, and Bill Kinsella.
Teaching includes courses in Public Relations, Organizational Communication, and Communication Ethics. She actively involves students through internship programs and integrates field experiences into academic rigor.
