Marianne Udow-Phillips is a Lecturer in Health Policy and Management at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, a Senior Advisor to the Center for Health and Research Transformation (CHRT), and a Strategic Advisor to Rewind. She is also the principal of MuConsulting, where she focuses on advancing social justice, improving population health, and strengthening health systems.

Her research centers on public health systems and trust, cost-effectiveness of health care services, and long-term care and mental health systems. She has led projects funded by the Commonwealth Fund and the Total Health Foundation to bridge public health and primary care and enhance public health systems in Michigan.
Marianne has held leadership roles at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) for over 20 years, served as Director of Michigan’s Department of Human Services (2004–2007), and was the founding Executive Director of CHRT. She specializes in strategic consulting, public-private collaboration, and addressing systemic health inequities through her expertise in health insurance, reimbursement policy, and social determinants of health.
