Marianne Sensier is a Research Fellow at the Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester, and an Associate Member of the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research. She holds a BA and PhD in Economics with Econometrics from the University of Sheffield. Her research focuses on regional economic resilience, spatial inequalities, and local economic strategies, with notable work on the North West England Productivity Challenge and policy responses to crises. She has contributed to projects such as the Investment in Places Productivity Campaign and the Oldham Economic Review.
Her expertise spans regional economics, monetary policy, and nonlinear modeling. She has been recognized with the Best Paper 2017 award from Spatial Economic Analysis. Marianne's work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to reducing inequalities and fostering inclusive growth.
