Mariana Pestana is an Invited Assistant Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico and a researcher at the Interactive Technologies Institute (ITI). She holds a PhD in Architectural Design from the Bartlett School of Architecture (2019) and an MA in Narrative Environments from Central Saint Martins, UAL. Her roles include Co-PI and Arts & Culture Coordinator for the European project Bauhaus of the Seas Sails, focusing on climate neutrality and coastal cities. She is also Chief Curator at MAC/CCB in Lisbon, appointed in 2024. Her research spans architectural design, cultural programs, and exhibitions, emphasizing design's role in ecology and empathy.
