Mariana Fernandez Caggiano

Mariana Fernandez Caggiano is a BHF Intermediate Research Fellow at Queen Mary University of London's William Harvey Research Institute (Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry), leading research into cardiac metabolism. Her work focuses on mitochondrial pyruvate carrier (MPC) regulation and its role in heart failure progression.

Education: BSc Biology and PhD Biomedicine from the University of A Coruña. Postdoctoral experience at King's College London before joining Queen Mary in 2019.

• Pyruvate diversion mechanisms
