Marian Mollin

Marian Mollin is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at Virginia Tech, part of the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences. Her research focuses on intersections of gender, protest, religion, activism, and culture in modern U.S. and Latin American history.

Her current book project, The Power of Faith: Understanding the Life and Death of Sister Ita Ford, situates Ford – one of four North American churchwomen murdered by the El Salvadoran military in 1980 – within postwar U.S. women’s history, Cold War dynamics, and transnational social movements. This work highlights how gender, national identity, and religious faith shaped efforts for political change in the 20th century.
