Heider Tun Tun is an Assistant Professor of History at Regis College, specializing in Indigenous and women's activism in Central America. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, Twin-Cities, and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of California, Irvine. His research focuses on collaborations between Indigenous communities and the Catholic Church, particularly in Guatemala and El Salvador.

Research interests include the intersection of faith, activism, and resistance, notably through his work with Co-Madres—an El Salvador human rights organization—and his exploration of Mayan communities' advocacy efforts. He received the ACLS Emerging Voices Fellowship (2021-2022) for promoting underrepresented narratives in academia.
Current projects include a testimonios initiative documenting Salvadoran women’s responses to armed conflict (1980–1992), emphasizing oral histories of resilience and solidarity.
