Kellie Wilson-Buford serves as Associate Professor of History and Chair of the Department of History at Arkansas State University's College of Liberal Arts and Communication. Previously, she directed the BSE Social Science program for seven years and served as interim chair of the Criminology, Sociology, and Geography department for two years, demonstrating extensive administrative leadership alongside her academic role.

Her acclaimed 2018 monograph Policing Sex and Marriage in the American Military analyzes court-martials as tools for constructing gender norms, while her current book project Collateral Damage examines historical military justice responses to sexual violence. Her interdisciplinary work bridges legal history, gender studies, and military sociology through publications in the Journal of Homosexuality and Military History of the West.
She teaches diverse undergraduate and graduate courses spanning U.S. history since 1876, global diversity, women's history, and specialized topics including the history of food, marriage, and surveillance states, reflecting her broad expertise in 20th century social and political transformations.
