Marian Burr

Marian Burr is an Associate Professor and Snow Fellow heading the Cancer Immunology and Epigenetics Laboratory at the John Curtin School of Medical Research, Australian National University. As an NHMRC Investigator, her clinician-scientist background combines cancer pathology with molecular oncology.

Her research employs genome-scale CRISPR screening to identify novel immunotherapy targets, focusing on epigenetic regulation of immune evasion mechanisms in hematological and solid malignancies. Key discoveries include Polycomb-mediated MHC class I suppression and chromatin remodeling in cancer immune resistance.

Recent publications highlight innovations in BET inhibition strategies and leukemia stem cell maintenance pathways. Research integrates biochemical, genomic, and single-cell technologies to develop therapeutic approaches overcoming immunotherapy resistance.
