Maria de Wit

Maria de Wit is a PhD candidate and WASS Teacher in Cultural Geography at Wageningen University & Research. Her research focuses on heritage contention, landscape studies, and educational monitoring in natural environments. She holds a dual role as a lecturer and researcher within the Wageningen School of Social Sciences (WASS), contributing to both academic teaching and applied research projects.

Her work explores interdisciplinary perspectives on cultural landscapes, including Dutch raised bog ecosystems and participatory heritage planning. Key themes include the interplay of societal perceptions, environmental management, and contested land uses.
