Maria Paz Moreno

Maria Paz Moreno is Professor of Spanish at the University of Cincinnati. Her research spans Contemporary Spanish Poetry, Food Studies (Gastronomy and Culinary Literature), and Spanish Women Writers. She holds a Licenciatura en Filosofía y Letras from the University of Alicante and a Ph.D. in Spanish Literature from The Ohio State University.

Her research explores the intersection of literature, culture, and gastronomy, with specific focus on feminist literary criticism and culinary history. She has published critical editions of works by Juan Gil-Albert and Concha Zardoya, along with scholarly monographs on Spanish culinary literature.

Her recent publications demonstrate consistent focus on Spanish cultural history through culinary and literary lenses, particularly examining ideological dimensions of food during historical turning points and women's contributions to Spanish literature.
