Marián Lejava

Marián Lejava is an Associate Professor at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU) within the Faculty of Music and Dance, specifically in the Department of Composition and Conducting. He holds advanced degrees including a doctorate in composition (2010) and orchestral conducting (2020). His roles include teaching Composition, Orchestral Conducting, and related methodologies.

Lejava has collaborated with major institutions like the Slovak Philharmonic, Slovak National Theatre, and orchestras in Brno, Prague, and Nancy. Since 2020, he leads the Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. His compositions blend contemporary techniques with classical structures, focusing on virtuosic orchestration and emotional depth. Notable works include Vertigo (2018) and De Brevitate Vitae (2019).

His conducting career spans opera and symphonic works, emphasizing interpretive precision. Collaborations with artists like Milan Pálá and Nora Škuta highlight his interdisciplinary approach to music creation and performance.
