Prof. Dr. Margreth Lünenborg is a Professor of Communication Studies with a focus on Journalism at Freie Universität Berlin since 2009. She previously held professorships at Universität Siegen and served as a guest/acting professor at universities in Vienna, Salzburg, and Berlin. Her research spans Gender Media Studies, Journalism Transformation, Affect and Emotion Analysis, and Migration-Media Intersections.

Her recent work explores affektive Medienpraktiken and performative publics through projects like the DFG-funded Challenges for Journalism and the EU-wide G-Versity: Achieving Gender Diversity. Articles highlight emotional dynamics in media, #MeToo and #systemrelevant movements, and transcultural affect in reality TV.
