Margareta Halek

Margareta Halek is a Professor and Department Head of the Department of Nursing Science at the Faculty of Health, University of Witten/Herdecke. She also serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Health, overseeing its strategic and academic leadership.

Research Focus: Over 15 years, her work centers on dementia care, particularly addressing behavioral changes in affected individuals. She emphasizes empowering caregivers, optimizing communication, and developing evidence-based nursing interventions. Recent projects include participatory video feedback programs (ParDeVI) and digital education frameworks (MINDED.RUHR), funded by entities like the BMBF and NRW Welfare Foundation.

Funding & Leadership: Her research integrates collaboration with care recipients, caregivers, and institutions like St. Clara nursing home. She leads self-funded initiatives such as the Fundamentals of Care Framework adaptation for Germany.
