Dr. Margaret Heffernan OAM is a Senior Lecturer at RMIT University’s College of Business and Law, Department of Management, with a career spanning since 2003. She is a transformative leader in higher education, focusing on socio-ecological and cultural determinants of marginalisation, health literacy for CALD populations, cross-cultural education for social impact, and business curriculum innovation.
Her research has driven policy changes in HPV vaccine implementation for Indigenous and CALD communities, with notable projects including the GSK-funded 'Informing Community' initiative (2016) and the 'SAGES' gamification education project (2024). She has secured over $7 million in pro-bono funding for women’s health initiatives and served on boards like the National Gynecological Cancer Foundation.
