Mareike Wiening

Mareike Wiening is a Universitätsprofessor (Professor) of Jazz Drums at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna (MUK) and a lecturer at the Zurich University of the Arts. She leads an internationally acclaimed jazz quintet since 2014, blending composition and performance with themes of resilience and hope. Her work bridges classical influences with contemporary jazz, evident in her 2023 album *Reveal*, which explores global and personal turmoil through nuanced percussion and collaborative improvisation.
