Marcus Mohall is a Lecturer at Linköping University’s Department of Theme (TEMA), specifically affiliated with Theme Technology and Social Change (THEME). He earned his PhD in Human Geography from Uppsala University in 2021 and has been at Linköping since Autumn 2022. His research focuses on two main areas: urban planning and housing policy, and transport and mobility, particularly public transport.
- Urban Planning & Housing Policy: Explores alternatives to market-oriented urban development and challenges in creating carbon-neutral districts through case studies in medium-sized Swedish cities.
- Transport & Mobility: Investigates public transport planning, accessibility, and critical theories of transport justice, including ongoing research on Sweden’s marketization of public transport and its long-term consequences.
Current Projects: Analyze "moderately heterodox" municipal initiatives in urban development and the feasibility of carbon-neutral urban districts. A book chapter on marketization of public transport will be published in 2025.
