Marco Kunz

Marco Kunz is a full professor in the Spanish Section at the University of Lausanne (UNIL), appointed as Chair of Spanish Literature since September 2009. He holds a doctorate from the University of Basel (1995) and completed his habilitation there in 2003. His career includes teaching at the Universities of Basel (1991–1999 and 2002–present) and Bern (2002–2005), alongside research collaborations, such as an SNSF project on migration in Spanish literature at the University of Neuchâtel (2000–2002). Since 2005, he has also been a professor of Romance literature at the University of Bamberg.

His research focuses on contemporary Spanish and Hispanic American literature, with a particular emphasis on the novel. He has authored several books and articles in these areas, contributing significantly to the field of Ibero-Romance philology. His work explores themes such as narrative structure, cultural migration, and literary modernity.
