Caterina Menichetti is an Associate Professor in the Department of French Literature at the Université de Lausanne (UNIL). She joined UNIL on February 1, 2017. Her academic background includes studies at the University of Rome La Sapienza (2002-2008) and a European Doctorate in Romance Philology through a partnership between the Universities of Siena, Paris IV, and Zurich (2008-2012). Her research focuses on medieval Occitan, French, and Italian literature, particularly courtly lyric traditions of the troubadours, religious texts, and manuscript codicology.
She has held prior positions at the Fondazione Ezio Franceschini (Florence, 2012-2016) and the University of Molise as a Romance Philology lecturer (2015-2016). Current projects include critical editions of Vaudois Occitan Acts of the Apostles and Old Italian Gospel of Matthew, alongside participation in the PRIN Corpus dell'antico occitano funded by the Italian Ministry of Education.
Her publications include monographs on troubadour manuscripts and co-edited volumes on medieval biblical translations and Romance epics. Research interests emphasize textual transmission, comparative medieval literatures, and interdisciplinary approaches to manuscript culture.
