Dominique Kunz Westerhoff is an Associate Professor of French Language and Literature in the French Section of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lausanne (UNIL), and Director of the 'Science and Literature' branch of the EPFL College of Humanities. Her academic focus encompasses the interplay between text and image in 19th- and 20th-century literature, theories of imagination from the Enlightenment to Romanticism, and modern/contemporary poetry. She has co-authored notable works such as Neige, blanc, papier: poésie et arts visuels à l'âge contemporain (2012) and L'homme-machine et ses avatars (2011), exploring intersections between science and literary invention.
Her doctoral thesis, The Rite of the Image, examined surrealism and the crisis of imagery in post-war poetics.
