Marco Bombardelli is a Full Professor of Administrative Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Trento, and serves as President of the Commission for the Implementation of the Code of Ethics. His teaching spans Administrative Law at the Faculty of Law and Regulation Law at the Department of Economics and Management, with prior instruction in Public Institutions Law, Public Economic Law, Environmental Law, and School Law at Trento's Faculty of Economics and Secondary School Specialization School in Rovereto.
He graduated with highest honors in Political Economy from the University of Trento's Faculty of Economics and Commerce in 1989. His academic progression includes Researcher (1995, confirmed 1998), Associate Professor (2001), and Extraordinary Professor (2006) before attaining Full Professor status.
Professor Bombardelli's research centers on Administrative Law and Public Law, with critical focus on administrative procedure, transparency mechanisms, regulatory simplification, e-government, and third-sector collaboration in social services. His work addresses contemporary governance challenges including document simplification, self-certification systems, common goods management, and participatory democracy frameworks within public administration.
He actively contributes to academic governance as editorial board member of Diritto Pubblico journal and Orizzonti del diritto pubblico publication series, while serving on the Master G.I.S. (Social Enterprise Management) board and Fondazione Caritro advisory committee. His 2024 presentation at Padua's 'Semplificare l'Università' conference addressed university complexity management through administrative streamlining.
Professor Bombardelli maintains significant engagement with public institutions through training programs for government employees and collaboration with administrations on regulatory drafting, including Italy's Presidential Decree 445/2000 on administrative documentation and Trento's social policies legislation. He authored the authoritative handbook on Bolzano's Administrative Procedure Law (Provincial Law 17/1993).
