Marco ANNI is an Associate Professor in Experimental Physics (SSD FIS/01) at the University of Lecce's Department of Mathematics and Physics 'Ennio De Giorgi', housed in the Fiorini College. His expertise spans Matter Physics, focusing on luminescent thin films and optical spectroscopy for applications in optoelectronics and photonics.
Education:
- Bachelor's in Physics (1998), University of Lecce
- PhD in Experimental Physics (2001), University of Lecce
Research Interests:
His work centers on the optical properties of innovative materials, including semiconductor nanocrystals and polymer-based thin films. Techniques include luminescence, ellipsometry, and time-resolved spectroscopy. Applications target devices such as LEDs, lasers, sensors, and solar cells. He founded the Photonics Laboratory (2006) and led the Optical Spectroscopy Lab at the National Nanotechnology Laboratory (2004–2006).
Awards:
- 2009: Sergio Panizza Prize for pioneering studies on quantum wires, organic materials, and colloidal semiconductor nanocrystals.
