Marcie Frank is a Professor in the Department of English at Concordia University, specializing in interdisciplinary research that bridges Restoration & 18th-century British literature with contemporary media theory. Her work explores narrative forms across theatre, novels, and modern media like film and television.
- BA in English and Philosophy from Barnard College (1982)
- PhD in English from Johns Hopkins University (1991)
Research Focus: Examines intersections between drama and the novel, media theory, and queer studies. Current projects include narrative theory development through "situation" analysis (funded by SSHRC Insight Development Grant) and investigations into autofiction/autotheory traditions.
Teaching: Offers courses on Restoration/18th-century drama, autofiction genealogies, and island literature as sociocultural laboratories. Took sabbatical in Fall 2021 but continues graduate teaching in Winter 2022.
